APIC Text Online: Healthcare Textiles

The latest chapter update to APIC Text Online (ATO) is now posted and available to subscribers: Healthcare Textile Services, found in the section Infection Prevention for Support Services and the Care Environment. This update provides the latest information on the laundering process to render textiles safe and suitable for reuse.  It provides the Infection Preventionist the most up-to-date information to guide maintenance of healthcare textiles with a minimum risk of infection or contamination from these supplies, including the growing demand of antimicrobial textiles.

This is the second quarterly review for 2016. Stay tuned for a new revision each quarter for the rest of 2016! Continued review for future revisions is now ongoing so that APIC can provide updates to the most critical topic areas in current infection prevention trends and issues.

We hope you are enjoying the added features of the new ATO platform, including:

  • Enhanced navigation so you can move around more nimbly
  • New layout and fonts for better readability
  • Improved search capability so you can find information faster
  • Refined image and graphics for clearer information display
  • Easy print capability so you can share information with others
  • Simplified access control features for use by institutional subscribers who share connection with others

Please let us know what you think about the new Healthcare Textile Services chapter, as well as the new ATO platform. Your experiences are critical to APIC’s success in providing the tools you need to flourish as an infection preventionist. Please email us at text@apic.org.

Regards,
