Recommended Browsers

For best results, we recommend using the one of the following browsers to access APIC Text Online:

  • Internet Explorer 8 or higher
  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari

Multiple logins using the same username and password
For security reasons, concurrent use of a single username/password is not permitted (unless you have an institutional license). If you are logged-in and your username/password is used to login from a different computer, the original session will be ended, and the second session will be allowed to continue. The original session will receive a message stating “You have been disconnected from the APIC Text Online because your account information has been used to login from a different computer.”  The new session will receive a message stating "Another session was opened with the credentials you provided. That session has been closed."

The APIC Text online was set up this way so that if a user forgets to log out from one computer and visits a different facility/workstation, he/she will still be able to log in. Imagine how frustrating it would be if you went to another facility and tried to log in, only to find an error message stating “you forgot to logout. Therefore you can’t access the APIC Text Online”! Setting up the security measures this way ensures that you’ll always be able to access your account.

Login Problems
First, ensure that you have subscribed successfully.  Did you receive a confirmation email?  Were you able to login before?  Also, please make sure that you are typing your username and password correctly. Check to see that the “Caps Lock” key has not been pressed. If you forgot your password, you may reset it here.  If you are still having problems, please contact text@apic.org for additional help.

Problems with Searching
The Search feature finds exact matches to keywords. For example, a search for “stats” won’t find the chapter on “Statistical Process Control”.  If you want to broaden your search, use the asterisk (*). For example, if you search for "stat*" you will find all words that start with "stat", including Statistic, Statistics, Statistical, Stats, etc.

If you are looking for a specific word on the page you are viewing, enter CTRL F on your keyboard. This will open the Find function in your browser at the top left of the page. Type the word in the box and press Enter. All matching results will be highlighted.
