New Season, New Text
Dear Reader,
It’s hard to believe that Summer is wrapping up and that Fall is just around the corner. As we prepare to shift seasons, it seems like a fitting time to call out the evolving APIC Text.
The APIC Text has changed for the better with an influx of updated chapters and streamlined content. The Text has published 20+ revised Chapters in 2024, over double from previous years, and you can expect more to come in following months. The list of updated chapters is too long to recount here (a good problem to have), but you can see the full summary of updated sections within the Text’s Recently Updated page. Be sure to check back frequently and review APIC eNews for chapter announcements.
Additional updates include APIC Text Suggested Reading sections. Suggested Readings detail APIC Text Chapters most relevant to six overarching IP categories and concerns. Sections include Ambulatory Care, Long Term Care, Older Adult IP, Outbreak Preparedness and Response, Surgical IP, and Vaccination and IP.
APIC Text Suggested Reading offers guidance to readers interested in specific aspects of IP. Subscribers already have access to chapters within sections. This addition is all benefit with no cost to readers – our favorite kind. Readers may also notice updates to chapter front-matter which clearly notes chapter revision dates and examples of updated content in sections. With these changes, the Text is changing for faster and easier use.
The APIC Text is a resource for IPs, by IPs. At the end of the day, the Text’s editorial team answers to you, our readers. Text editors are pleased, but not done, with content updates. We welcome your feedback toward additional Suggested Reading sections and encourage you to check out the Text’s latest updates. Happy reading.
